Objective
I was tasked to design an infographic about what I’m passionate about which is playing basketball. The pieces I needed to gather for this project included researching ten facts or reasons why people should play basketball and choosing the infographic types to include. I learned how to use the type tool inside a shape, use the pen tool to layer the jersey elements, and type on a path tool.

- How To
Research
- Good Team Player
- “The offensive part of the game provides great opportunities to teach young players to be unselfish as they work together to score and win. When you’re selfish on the basketball court, your whole team suffers” (G4Developer, 2017).
- Good for your bones
- “Playing basketball gives you a workout with a mix of jumping exercises in combination with weight-bearing activities — like tennis or jogging — and resistance exercises in the form of weight-lifting” (WebMD Editorial Contributors, 2023).
- Self-Confidence
- Be ready: practice, study, and mentally prepare to play
- Set in Game Goals
- Focus on your team role
- Control your nerves
- Remove fear of failure
- Builds Self endurance
- Pregame Meal
- Drink Water BEFORE doing anything basketball related
- Prioritize endurance when building muscle
- International about Cardio
- Stretch and Ice Legs after each session
- Develops Communication Skills
- “Communication in basketball is one of those things like energy and effort; it needs always to be happening at a high level. It is something that every player can learn and do, so there is no excuse or reason good enough as to why it is not being done. It starts, though, with your basketball team’s culture and making sure that you cultivate this high level of communication” (Ohman).
- Lowers Stress
- “Played alone or in a team setting, basketball can reduce stress. Exercise is a proven stress-reliever. Decreasing your stress will help you focus and have more energy to complete tasks on and off the court” (Dime Athletics).
- Everyone can play
- “Disabled veterans returning from WWII started the sport with the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Players were exclusively paraplegic veterans or those with spinal cord injuries. Eventually it opened up to those with other physical disabilities” (Basketball Goal Store, 2011).
- Improves body composition
- “Muscle mass has been found to be the most important factor in body composition for athletes as it is directly involved in force production, which is involved in many aspects of basketball like sprinting, guarding, and jumping” (Kuo, Dommel, Sayer, 2022).
- Make New Friends
- “One need not be a good basketball player to make friends with those who are. If you are sincere, introduce yourself and strike up an informal conversation, during which you may wish to ask the person for tips on how to improve your game…and your self-confidence both on and off the court” (Jack Brown).
- Played with as few as 2 people
- Time Trial
- Around the World
